West Ham United co-chairman David Gold says that his side are looking at an extra 6,000 seats at their new ground, the Olympic Stadium.

The Hammers are due to leave their Upton Park home for the Olympic Stadium in the summer as they bid to take the next step forward in their development.

The demand for tickets at the Olympic Stadium has astonished West Ham and it has been suggested they are looking to add an extra 6,000 seats to the capacity.

Gold was asked via Twitter if such suggestions are true.

And the co-chairman replied: "Yes the demand has exceeded our expectations so we must do what we can to increase the capacity."
