West Ham striker Enner Valencia believes that team-mate Manuel Lanzini has the potential to become one of the finest players the club has ever seen.

Lanzini, who joined Slaven Bilic's side first on loan and then on a permanent basis this month, has been impressive for his team having managed five goals in 18 Premier League matches and has also provided his team-mates with a single assist.

The 23-year-old was in fact on target in their last match against Chelsea, scoring the opener in the 17th minute of the match via a right-footed shot from outside the box that found the top corner of the net.

Praising his team-mate, the 26-year-old striker insisted that Lanzini's strike was absolutely incredible. According to Valencia, the former River Plate man is a player with a huge potential and having closely watched him since his days in South America, Valencia is very well aware of the kind of talent that Lanzini possesses.

“Manu’s goal was unbelievable, ,Valencia told his club's official website.

“He is a fantastic player and he has the capability to be one of the best players with West Ham.

"I know him from his time in South America and now he is a very good player here in England. He has good technique and he scored a fantastic goal on Saturday."

The Ecuador international also took time to praise his striking partner Andy Carroll, who came in on the 60th minute and added West Ham's second at Stamford Bridge.

“Andy, too, is unbelievable. He was on the pitch for about 20 seconds and he scored a goal!”
