Marouane Fellaini is no closer to signing a new contract with Manchester United and is likely to leave the club this summer.

Fellaini rejected an offer of a new deal from Manchester United last year and it has seemed inevitable that the midfielder would be leaving the club on a free transfer after his current deal expires at the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho revealed his optimism about holding on to the Belgian midfielder towards the end of the campaign and talks were revived over a fresh contract for Fellaini.

But it has been claimed that there has been little progress in negotiations between the club and his representatives and Fellaini is likely to leave the Red Devils in the summer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, only a drastic turnaround in talks could lead towards the unlikely scenario of the Belgian signing a new contract with the Old Trafford outfit.
