West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has hailed Hammers midfielder Declan Rice for his performances and maturity so far this season, insisting that he has a bright future ahead of him.

Rice, who came up through the ranks at West Ham, has been an influential figure in midfield for the Hammers so far this season.




Despite struggling against Liverpool during their opening game of the season at Anfield, Rice bounced back against Everton at Goodsion Park, where West Ham registered their first win of the season.

The 19-year-old has been named in the starting eleven by Pellegrini in each of the last 12 games for West Ham after impressing with a string of commendable performances in midfield for the club.
 


Pellegrini, who took over in east London during the summer, hailed Rice for his performances by insisting that the midfielder has a bright future ahead of him.

“I think that Declan has a great future”, Pellegrini told the club’s official website.

“He’s a very mature player for 19-years-old and it’s not easy.

"He needs to learn a lot about how to play better in that position.

“But in every ball, he gives his all for 95 minutes.

"He has good recovery and a good technique, so I think we are seeing a player who we will talk about a lot in the future years.”

West Ham made it three wins in a row in the Premier League after registering a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday as they climbed to 11th in the league table.
