Aston Villa want to sign a goalkeeper this summer to compete for the number 1 spot with Tom Heaton, who is still recovering from a serious knee injury.

They want a goalkeeper with Premier League experience and they have two targets in mind who they want to bring in during the ongoing transfer window.

But the Villans have cast their net wide for options and the club are considering other goalkeepers beyond those two unnamed targets.

It has been claimed that the Midlands club are considering the option of signing Valencia goalkeeper Cillessen this summer.

Valencia signed the Dutchman from Barcelona last year in a swap deal involving Neto, but the club are willing to listen to offers for the majority of their players due to financial problems.

Aston Villa could be interested in the 31-year-old goalkeeper if he is available for the right price this summer.

If other targets are deemed too expensive, a move for Cillessen could become a possibility.

The Villans do not want to spend more than £10m on a new goalkeeper this summer.
