Carlo Ancelotti wants to rebuild his midfield this summer after watching his Everton side limp towards the end of last season.

Everton have been linked with an interest in Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure and the club are also said to be closing in on the signature of Allan from Napoli.

But the Merseyside club have other targets in mind as well and, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Everton are interested in assessing the possibility of signing Ramsey this summer.

The midfielder joined Juventus from Arsenal on a free transfer last summer, but he has struggled to live up this billing and only featured in 35 games across the whole of last season.

Juventus could be open to offers for him and Everton are considering taking him back to England.

Playing for Ancelotti in the Premier League may be an attractive prospect for Ramsey.

But his wage demands are likely to be the complication in any deal as he signed a four-year contract worth €7m per season last summer at Juventus.

Everton are looking to reduce their inflated wage bill this year and Ramsey’s salary demands could mean the club will have to wait to sell before considering signing him.
