The Yorkshire giants have agreed a deal with French side Rennes for the signature of the winger and he is already in England to finalise the move.

It had been thought that Leeds would need a work permit for the Brazilian wide-man, which could lead to the deal taking some time to do on deadline day.

However, Raphinha does not need a work permit as he holds an Italian passport.

Leeds should as a result have a straightforward process when it comes to pushing the deal over the line.

Rennes only signed Raphinha last year from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon and he helped the club to qualify for the Champions League this season.

Leeds could eventually fork out a total of €23.5m for the wide-man if all the add-ons in the deal are activated.

Rennes are signing Jeremy Doku from Anderlecht as his replacement.
