Morelos has been widely expected to leave Rangers since the start of the window and the Gers even signed Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe to strengthen their forward line.

The Colombia international had personal terms agreed with French giants Lille and was keen to take the next step in his career.

However, Lille failed with a bid for the striker and have not returned to the negotiating table with Rangers with an improved offer.

And it has been claimed that there is little prospect of Morelos finding his way out of Rangers on transfer deadline day.

The Gers do not have a concrete offer on their table for him and Lille are unlikely to revive their interest in the striker today.

Steven Gerrard did drop Morelos as he felt his head was turned due to the speculation over his future at the club.

But he has been reintegrated into the squad and Morelos has netted five goals in ten appearances for Rangers this season.

The rumours over his future at Rangers are likely to be parked until the January transfer window, which opens in just 12 weeks.
