The 28-year-old midfielder is set to leave West Ham in the coming hours and will be available on a free transfer.

Wilshere has been dogged by injury problems all his career and since joining West Ham, he has made just 19 appearances for the club.

His last appearance for the Hammers came in the EFL Cup this season, but David Moyes has been keen to offload him and his wages from the books.

Wilshere was in the final year of his contract at West Ham and the club were keen to find a buyer for the midfielder in the transfer window.

But no one has shown any interest in the 28-year-old and the club have decided to terminate his contract at the London Stadium.

Wilshere and West Ham have mutually agreed to end his contract and he will now look for a new club.

As he will be available on a free transfer, he can find a new club outside of the transfer window system.
