The Irons’ four-game unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end after they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

West Ham star Soucek is dejected to have come away from Merseyside empty-handed but has admitted that they knew it was going to be difficult, considering their schedule.

David Moyes’ side earned eight points from their last five games against Wolves, Leicester, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool, despite enjoying little possession.

Soucek has set his eyes on bouncing back against Fulham next weekend and wants to see his team keep more of the ball and create more chances in what will be in his own words a different challenge.

We felt we were very unfortunate on Saturday“, Soucek told West Ham TV.

We were winning 1-0, and still had the game at 1-1 with five minutes to go.

I wanted more points, but when we lost the first two games and we looked to our schedule we knew it was difficult.

But from Arsenal, we got better and better, and now we’ll work hard towards the next game and we want to win against Fulham.

It will be a different challenge from the last four games for us now.

We’ve been playing teams from the top six recently and now we want to keep more of the ball and create more chances.

In their last five league games, West Ham enjoyed the most possession against Tottenham with 48 per cent, while they had just 27 per cent of the possession at Anfield.

With a difficult set of games out of the way, Moyes and co will be hopeful of enjoying more possession in their upcoming matches.
