The attacking midfielder has been a key player for AC Milan but his current deal will expire at the end of the season and locking him down on a fresh contract is a complex affair for the Rossoneri, something which has seen him linked with Manchester United.

AC Milan are keen to offer him a new contract but his wage demands have left the Rossoneri shocked and they are in no mood to accept them.

Calhanoglu is reportedly looking for a deal worth €7m per season, which would make him the highest-paid player in the Rossoneri squad.

And according to Tuttosport, the Serie A giants have decided that they are not going to entertain those demands and are now considering selling him in the winter transfer window.

His agent has been betting on AC Milan becoming desperate and adhering to his demands but it seems the club have made up their mind.

The Turkey international’s wage demands have also drawn anger towards him from the fans too.

The Serie A giants are not willing to negotiate and are now resigned to the prospect of seeing him leave the club.

They are now contemplating whether to sell him in January or wait until the summer when he can leave on a free transfer.

Manchester United have been floated as a destination for Calhanoglu, but it remains to be seen if they make a move for him.
