The former Liverpool captain was handed his first managerial task when he was appointed as the boss of Scottish Premiership side Rangers ahead of the 2018/19 season.
The Gers have made constant progress under Gerrard over the last two seasons, competing with Celtic for the league title and reaching the Europa League round of 16.
The trend appears to be going forward in the current campaign, with Rangers currently boasting an eleven-point lead over the Hoops in the league and being well-placed to progress in the Europa League.
Reflecting on the progress the club have made, Gerrard thanked the Rangers board for their support and went on to insist that the team is full of valuable assets now.
“The support from the board has been fantastic since the first day I arrived“, Gerrard told a press conference.
“This team is in much better shape than when we arrived and the team is now full of valuable assets.“
The Rangers manager also expressed his desire to make the side a team capable of competing in all competitions, a process which he feels never stops.
“It is an ongoing job, we are trying to build a squad that is capable of competing on all fronts and that never stops behind-the-scenes“, he said.
“We are constantly looking at how we improve the club.“
Unbeaten across all competitions so far, Rangers will be hopeful of winning the league and making significant progress in the Europa League this season.
