The Dons currently trail third-placed Hibernian by four points and have four games ahead to bridge the gap and replace Jack Ross’ side.

With the Dons setting themselves the target of finishing third, the former Rangers man insists that his team will head to the game against Celtic tonight with confidence at the back of a few positive results.

The 23-year-old knows well that it will be a tough game against the former champions, but insists the hosts will head into the match with a game plan and try to execute it as best as they can to come away with all three points.

“Third is our target”, McCrorie was quoted as saying by the Aberdeen Evening Express.

“We will go into the Celtic game with confidence after the last few results we have had.

“It is going to be a hard game.

“There is no getting away from it that. Celtic are a tremendous team.

“You can see what they have done over the years and they have very good players.

“But we will go in with a game plan and try to execute it as best we can.

“And hopefully in the end we will come out with three points.”

Aberdeen will be boosted by their Scottish Cup win against Livingston on Sunday, and they have set up a quarter-final clash against Dundee United.
