A host of sides have taken note of the midfielder’s displays at Heerenveen and he is a man in demand heading into the summer transfer window.

Rangers have made an enquiry about signing him, while Atalanta and Reims are also keen on securing Veerman’s services for next season.

However, according to the Leeuwarder Courant’s KOKO Radio podcast, Veerman prefers to stay within the Netherlands if he moves on from Heerenveen.

He is set to have an option to remain in the Eredivisie as PSV Eindhoven are admirers.

PSV Eindhoven currently sit in second place in the Eredivisie and are on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Veerman has clocked 28 appearances in the Eredivisie so far this term, chipping in with an impressive seven goals and nine assists for Heerenveen.

PSV Eindhoven got an up-close look at an in-form Veerman in December when Heerenveen played out a 2-2 draw with the Dutch giants at home, with the midfielder providing an assist.

The 22-year-old’s contract at Heerenveen runs until 2024.
