The 28-year-old spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Italian outfit Genoa and made 25 league appearances for the club, contributing to six goals in the process.
Genoa do not have the option to make the move permanent, but Zappacosta’s performances this season have seen him attract the interest of several other clubs in Italy.
Serie A club Atalanta are said to have made enquiries for the Chelsea defender, while Napoli have also been credited with an interest in him.
And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina have identified Zappacosta as an ideal candidate to bolster their squad as well.
La Viola are keen to strengthen their wing-back options ahead of the new campaign and view Zappacosta and out of contract Napoli star Elseid Hysaj as potential targets.
Zappacosta does not appear to have a place in Thomas Tuchel’s plans for next season and is likely to move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
However, it remains to be seen how much Chelsea will demand for the Italian, who has one more year remaining on his contract with the Blues.
