Since making his senior debut in December 2019, Casey has struggled for any game time in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad while continuing as a regular in the Under-23s set-up.

Casey made the bench nine times in the season gone by in the Premier League, but was not handed any minutes.

Bielsa has a wealth of options at centre-back, including Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Pascal Struijk, Liam Cooper and Charlie Cresswell, who are all vying for minutes and Casey is down the pecking order.

Newly promoted Championship outfit Blackpool are keen on adding the Leeds starlet to their ranks in the coming weeks and it appears they have received a boost in their prospects of landing him.

The 20-year-old is open to moving on from Leeds as he is keen to make sure he clocks regular game time.

Casey may be hoping to continue his development under Neil Critchley at Bloomfield Road, with the Seasiders boss being a firm admirer of him.

However, Casey is away at present and there are details to arrange around the move, including a medical.

The defender signed a new three-year deal at Elland Road last summer but is now looking likely to end his stint prematurely.
