Jose Mourinho wants midfield reinforcements at Roma this summer and has been pushing the club to sign Granit Xhaka from Arsenal.

The Swiss star man is Roma’s priority target in midfield for Roma in the ongoing transfer window and they have been in talks with Arsenal over working out an agreement.

No deal is in place as Arsenal and Roma are still haggling over a transfer fee and the Serie A giants have other midfielders on their shortlist.

Aston Villa midfielder Luiz is one of the players Roma are considering signing and, according to Italian daily La Repubblica, the Premier League club would be prepared to accept an offer.

It has been claimed that Aston Villa are ready to sell the midfielder if they earn a fee of around €20m this summer.

The Villans have already spent big on Emiliano Buendia and recently had a bid rejected for Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe.

The club are prepared to move on a few players this summer as well in order to balance their books.

And it seems Luiz is one of the players they would be prepared to listen to offers for in the coming weeks.
