Morelos made 44 appearances for the Gers in all competitions in the 2020/21 campaign, scoring 17 goals and registering 13 assists in the process.
The Colombian was instrumental in Rangers’ Scottish Premiership triumph and he has attracted interest from clubs across Europe by virtue of his fine displays, not least in the Europa League.
There has been speculation linking the 25-year-old with Portuguese giants FC Porto in recent weeks, with the club claimed to admire the Colombian.
It has been claimed that Morelos’ agent was in Portugal to hold talks with Porto, but that has now been dismissed.
The Scottish league winner’s agent was in Portugal, but only to complete a transfer for an English club.
Porto are still thought to be interested in the Colombia,n but may not be willing to match Rangers’ asking price, which is around £15m to £20m.
Morelos has two years remaining in his contract with the Gers but it remains to be seen if he will remain at Ibrox this summer.
