The Blues star’s future at Stamford Bridge is under the scanner as he wants to leave the club having struggled for regular game time in recent seasons.
Chelsea are looking to move him on this summer and he has attracted interest from Italy in the shape of Serie A giants Napoli.
Emerson has revealed he is happy a club like Napoli are interested in securing his services and added Gli Azzurri coach Luciano Spalletti is a good friend of his, the two having worked together at former club Roma.
The left-back stressed that he wants to play regularly next season and will take a decision on his future after evaluating all the options available to him.
“I am glad Napoli are interested in me”, Emerson was quoted as saying by Italian outlet Calcionapoli24.
“I want to play and I will choose the best option [for my future].
“Spalletti is a friend.”
Emerson has entered the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and it remains to be seen whether he will return to Italy in the coming weeks, where he has plied his trade for Palermo and Roma.
