Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria is also a preferred target for Jose Mourinho but Roma are again looking towards Arsenal for a midfield option.
And according to Italian outlet LaRoma24.it, the Giallorossi are considering making a move for Torreira in the ongoing transfer window.
The Uruguayan spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid and has been clear about wanting to leave Arsenal this summer.
A move back to Italy appeals to the former Udinese star and Lazio are reportedly interested in signing him.
But Roma are believed to be prepared to compete with their eternal rivals for Torreira’s signature.
Mourinho wants a midfielder before the end of the transfer window and the Arsenal star is a real option for Roma.
