The 23-year-old winger is on the cusp of joining Leeds from Manchester United on a permanent deal.

He is scheduled to undergo medical at Leeds this morning and since last night the two clubs were working on the fine print of their agreement.

A final deal is in place and Manchester United and Leeds have sorted out all the paperwork for the move to happen.

All the relevant papers have been signed and sealed for James to move to Leeds from Manchester United on deadline day.

Once the medical is done, James will sign a contract and end Leeds’ three-year pursuit of the Welsh winger.

He was close to joining Leeds in January 2019, but the move collapsed in the final hours of deadline day as Swansea City pulled the plug on the agreement.

But that is not likely to happen today and Marcelo Bielsa will get the winger he has wanted for a few years.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was reluctant to lose James but Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival has made it apparent that Manchester United needed to sell one of their attackers.

Manchester United are set to make a healthy profit from the sale of the winger.
