Clarke spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City, and played once in the Europa Conference League against Pacos Ferreira.

He has not made the matchday squads for any of Tottenham’s three Premier League games and has featured twice for their Under-23s this season.

There has been talk of him leaving the north London club on loan and at least three clubs are interested in signing him.

But it has been claimed that Clarke is willing to stay at Tottenham this season and look to fight for a place in the team.

The winger is not keen to go out for another loan spell on the final day of the window at the moment.

The 20-year-old wants to impress new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo and make his way into the Portuguese’s plans.

Clarke still has two years left on the contract with Spurs and for the moment, does not want to leave the club.

It remains to be seen if his stance changes before the window closes.
