The Norwegian striker has been a revelation for the German side since joining in January 2020, currently standing at 70 goals in 69 games in all competitions for Dortmund.

His exploits for the Bundesliga side have attracted the attention of a whole host of clubs around Europe, including the English trio of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, and speculation surrounding the striker has been ongoing since the summer.

Bayern Munich legend and ex-CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had a conversation with current Borussia Dortmund CEO Watzke, where he told Rummenigge that he is highly optimistic that Haaland will still be playing for Borussia Dortmund come next season.

“I recently had an espresso with my ex-colleague Aki Watzke in Munich”, Rummenigge wrote in his column for German daily Bild.

“He told me that he was very optimistic that Haaland would still play for Borussia Dortmund next season.”

Haaland’s contract at Signal Iduna Park runs until the summer of 2024, but contains a clause which would allow him to move next summer for €75m.
