Arthur has an agreement in place to join Arsenal in the ongoing transfer window and the Gunners have proposed to sign him on loan.

The north London club are even prepared to pay his full wages during his loan stint but they are yet to get Juventus’ approval.

Allegri is in favour of holding on to Arthur but in a boost for Arsenal, Juventus are looking at replacements.

The Italian giants want to sign a replacement first and according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, they are considering several options and probing around for possible deals.

Aurelien Tchouameni is a top target but Monaco’s demands are too much for the Serie A giants and they are only interested in selling him in the summer.

They are probing the possibility of signing Denis Zakaria, who could be available for as little as €6m, but several other clubs are chasing him as well.

The Serie A giants have already failed with an approach for Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is not available this month.

Juventus have also carried out enquiries on Renato Sanches and Ruben Neves as well and are even considering a move for Leandro Paredes.

But nothing is imminent, which means Arthur’s potential pathway to Arsenal remains blocked.
