Palace have been in talks with Manchester United for the signature of the midfielder on loan for the rest of the season.

Patrick Vieira has identified him as a top target and Palace reportedly have an agreement in place with Manchester United for the Dutchman’s loan.

But it has been claimed that there is more interest in Van de Beek and a deal is far from being signed and sealed.

It has been claimed Everton are now in the mix for the midfielder and are pressing ahead with their efforts to sign him on loan from the Red Devils.

The Toffees wanted to sign Van de Beek last summer but Manchester United blocked a move as Everton were perceived as a rival.

But with the Merseyside club now just a couple of places above the relegation zone, Manchester United do not see them as an immediate threat.

Everton are expected to announce Frank Lampard as their new manager soon and want to strengthen his hand with new signings.

They are pushing to reach an agreement with Manchester United to take Van de Beek to Goodison Park.

Valencia were also interested but they have now backed out of the race to sign the midfielder.

Manchester United are prepared to loan the Dutchman out as long as a club are prepared to cover his wages.
