Sandler spent the first part of the season on loan at French club Troyes but the spell was not a fruitful one for the centre-back.
The centre-back made just two appearances for the French club with both of them coming in September.
Sandler is now back at the Etihad with the Citizens appearing to not have yet made a decision on his future at the moment.
Feyenoord are a possibility as the club are keen on roping him in and adding him to their squad, according to Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad.
The Dutch club are currently in a title race, sitting third in the Eredivise table, and think the addition of Sandler can help in their cause.
Sandler began his senior professional career with Eredivise club PEC Zwolle and thus he is familiar with the Dutch top flight, making 30 appearances in the competition.
The centre-back joined the Citizens in the summer of 2018 from the Dutch club but has made only two senior appearances for them and none in the Premier League.
