Alli is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans going forward and Tottenham have been trying to find a new club for him during this month’s transfer window.

Spurs have been waiting for offers to land on their table but for the moment they do not have any concrete proposals to consider.

But Crystal Palace are interested in securing him on loan after missing out on the signing of Donny van de Beek to Everton.

However, it has been claimed, Palace could again face competition from the Merseyside club for Alli as well on deadline day.

Everton have made an enquiry for the signature of the Spurs midfielder and are considering signing him today.

The Toffees could even be interested in a permanent deal but it has been claimed that could be difficult to agree due to paucity of time.

Frank Lampard is set to become their new manager and Everton are keen to bring in more than Van de Beek on deadline day.

It remains to be seen whether either Everton or Palace succeed in signing Alli by tonight.
