The Reds sealed a big money swoop for Luis Diaz from FC Porto on Sunday but are not done with their player recruitment this month.
Liverpool have their eyes on Fulham starlet Carvalho and are keen on bringing him to Anfield, with talks taking place.
The Merseyside giants are pushing to land the 19-year-old and are locked in talks with the Cottagers over sealing a deadline day swoop for him.
Carvalho is out of contract at Craven Cottage in the summer and Reds have submitted an initial bid for him in the £5m range, but Fulham are yet to agree on a deal.
However, Liverpool are desperate to get a deal done for the teenager before tonight’s transfer deadline as they are wary of being involved in the chase in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side want to avoid competition for Carvalho’s signature in the next window and also want to avoid a tribunal setting a fee for him next summer, which could put his foreign suitors in an advantageous position.
Fulham want to keep hold of Carvalho for the remainder of the season and Liverpool have been tipped to loan him back to the Cottagers.
