As it stands, Chelsea will have to witness the departures of senior centre-back duo Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the summer, with both players out of contract at the end of this season.

The Blues have started compiling a list of potential targets in the summer as they look towards a defensive overhaul at centre-back, with both Rudiger and Christensen’s futures at Stamford Bridge shrouded in uncertainty.

And the European champions have identified Wolves centre-back Kilman as a defensive target and are considering a move for him.

Chelsea’s scouts have been monitoring Kilman’s progress in recent weeks and are happy with what they have seen.

The 24-year-old was a Chelsea fan growing up and could be handed an opportunity to move to the capital club should they choose to swoop for him.

Kilman has been on the books at Molineux since the summer of 2018 and is a fixture under Bruno Lage in the Premier League this season.

In addition to the Wolves man, Leicester City’s Caglar Soyuncu and Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Adam Webster are other names claimed to be on Chelsea’s transfer wish list.
