Bergwijn was subject of strong interest from Dutch giants Ajax in the winter transfer window, however Spurs were not open to letting him go for the price offered.

Tottenham rejected an offer from the Eredivisie outfit last month for Bergwijn and the player has remained part of Conte’s attacking department.

However, the winger has only played a bit part role under Conte this season and  still has admirers from elsewhere keen on his services.

Italian giants AC Milan are planning on making significant investment in player recruitment in the summer and the Spurs star is among the names in their sights.

And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Spurs boss Conte does not see Bergwijn playing a key role under him and is not against seeing him leave in the summer, which is a boost for AC Milan.

The Rossoneri could strike a deal with Spurs for Bergwijn should they choose to swoop for him in the forthcoming window, but only provided Tottenham managing director of football Paratici asks an affordable price for his signature.

Clubs will wait to see whether Paratici asks for a Premier League level price or is flexible.

It remains to be seen whether AC Milan will push to land the Spurs star when the window swings open next.

Ajax could also return to the chase for Bergwijn.
