Morecambe appointed Derek Adams earlier this week after previous manager Stephen Robinson left for St. Mirren and the League One game on Saturday afternoon will be his first in charge.

The Shrimps are on an indifferent run of form, having picked up three points in their last six games whilst going winless and Adams will be hoping he is able to inspire some change in their fortunes.

Woolfenden revealed that as the Shrimps appointed a new manager just before the game, the Blues cannot be sure of how their opponents will be set up.

Instead the defender thinks the Blues will have to rely on their own instincts and approach the game by trying to maximise their own strengths.

“Now they’ve got a new manager, you’re not too sure what to expect”, Woolfenden was quoted as saying by the East Anglian Daily Times.

“You’ve just got to go into the game confident in your own abilities and focusing on us.

“It’s going to be a tough game.

“They’ve got strong players up front and in the back.

“Morecambe and Fleetwood [Town] are going to be two long, difficult journeys.”

After the game against the Shrimps, the Blues face another trip away from home in the form of Fleetwood and they will be looking to get maximum points against two teams battling it out in a relegation battle.
