A 5-2 mauling of Burton Albion on Tuesday at home means that the Owls have now won eight of their last ten League One games, and skipper Bannan has been on one of their standout performers during that period.

The 32-year-old scored twice and registered an assist against the Brewers, which has taken his direct goal contributions to six in his last eight outings.

And Bannan has revealed that he is enjoying his football in the advanced midfield role he is currently occupying under Darren Moore.

The Owls skipper stressed that playing further up the middle of the park suits him the best, which has also helped him to score and set up more goals.

“Yes, I am enjoying my football”, Bannan told Sheffield Wednesday’s official YouTube channel post match.

“I am playing in a position now where it is probably my best position.

“I have got Mass [Massimo Luongo], Jack Hunt came in behind me tonight and let me play further forward and I am enjoying it to be honest, scoring goals, getting assists and the team is winning.

“So, all good at the minute.”

The Yorkshire outfit have climbed to fifth in the league standings as they look to seal a playoff spot and will return to the pitch at the weekend to take on Lincoln City.
