The centre-back has been at Fenerbahce since January 2021 and has established himself as one of the key players in their squad.

Szalai has also caught the eye with his performances on the international stage for Hungary and several clubs across Europe are keeping a close eye on him.

And according to Turkish broadcaster Aspor, the defender is also attracting significant interest from the Premier League in the shape of West Ham, Aston Villa, Southampton and Brighton.

The Premier League quartet are all keen on snapping up Szalai in the forthcoming summer transfer window.

But along with Szalai, his fellow Fenerbahce centre-back Kim Min-jae, is also attracting transfer interest from elsewhere and the Turkish giants are against the idea of letting both players leave in the same window.

West Ham have identified centre-back as a priority position they need to bolster in the summer, while Brighton saw senior centre-back Dan Burn leave for Newcastle United in January.

It remains to be seen whether any among West Ham, Aston Villa, Southampton and Brighton will pounce for Szalai when the transfer window swings open in the simmer.
