The Magpies spent more than £90m in the January transfer window in order to boost their chances of surviving in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle appear to be on course to stay in the Premier League and there were suggestions that the club could go even bigger in the summer and spend even more money.

But the club are reportedly set to be more cautious and their budget for the next transfer window stands at £60m at the moment.

And it has been claimed that Newcastle are also waiting on new sponsorship deals to enhance their spending power.

The club are still more or less on the same sponsorship deals as they were under their previous owner Mike Ashley.

The new regime are looking to boost their financial footing by bringing in more lucrative deals and are under pressure to do so before the summer.

Newcastle believe they would have a firmer financial footing to spend more money in the summer once they can boost their revenue.
