Spence has sparked the interest of several clubs in the Premier League and is likely to leave Middlesbrough in the summer.

The right-back has a little over a year left on his Boro contract and the Championship club are resigned to losing the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

Tottenham have held talks to sign him and their north London rivals Arsenal are also interested in getting their hands on the player.

And it has been claimed that Spence could be available for as little as £12m in the summer transfer window.

He is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest and has featured 37 times in all competitions this season.

Spence has also attracted interest from German champions Bayern Munich, who have been keeping tabs on his development.

Middlesbrough are hoping that a bidding war ensues in the summer that could drive his price up.

But for the moment it is likely that Boro will have to sell him for a cut-price fee at the end of the season.
