Mata signed a one-year contract extension with the Red Devils before the start of the current season, but he is not expected to continue further at Old Trafford.

The veteran midfielder has only five appearances to his name for Manchester United this season, with none of those coming in the Premier League.

While his playing time gradually decreased in the last couple of seasons, the current campaign has seen him become a rare sight on the pitch.

The Spanish star has offers from clubs in the MLS as he looks for a destination to continue playing football next season.

Mata has rubbished claims that he is considering retirement and intends to still keep playing, but that will most probably not be at Old Trafford starting from next season.

The midfielder has spent more than a decade in the Premier League and if he does accept an offer from the MLS, he would end an association of more than eight years with the Red Devils.

In that time, Mata has made more than 275 appearances for Manchester United and won both the FA Cup and the EFL Cup at Old Trafford.
