The 29-year-old centre-back will be out of contract at the end of the season and so far he is yet to take a call on his future.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to keep him but the club cannot negotiate terms with the defender until they have a new owner.

The club are unlikely to get a new owner before May, but Rudiger wants to push ahead and make a decision over his future soon.

He has offers on his table from clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, and the German wants to make a decision before the end of the month.

The centre-back does not want to take more time with his contract running out and is keen to make the decision in the coming days.

Chelsea are hopeful that Tuchel will be able to convince the player to delay his decision in order to give themselves more time.

Rudiger is happy in London but he wants big money on his new contract and for the moment, Chelsea are not in a position to offer him terms.

The defender is not keen to wait too long and risk getting injured in the final weeks of his contract at Chelsea.
