Burnley are on the lookout for a new manager after deciding to sack Sean Dyche last week but are finding it hard to bring in someone imminently.

Sam Allardyce has been on their radar but Burnley have found it hard to convince the former England boss to come in now with just a few games left in the season.

Burnley are now casting their net wide and are now considering bringing in a foreign manager as well.

And it has been claimed that Carvalhal is being closely looked at as one of the options by Burnley.

The Portuguese is doing well at Braga and has been credited with developing a good young side there.

Alan Pace wants to bring in someone who would be willing to build a young squad going forward at Turf Moor.

Carvalhal also has the added advantage of having the experience of being in England where he previously worked at Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday.

Burnley have also looked at Wayne Rooney and Chris Wilder, but both seem unattainable at the moment.
