Swift is out of contract in the summer and it is expected he will leave the Royals when the current season is over.

Leeds have been linked with an interest in Swift, who will be available on a free transfer in the summer and he could be an addition to bolster the Whites’ midfield.

It has been a tough season for the Royals, who faced a relegation battle after being deducted six points, but Swift has been a positive influence in midfield.

The midfielder has 13 goals as well as eleven assists this season and has started 36 of Reading’s games in the Championship.

West Brom are interested in the midfielder and have monitored him continuously, sending scouts on many occasions to observe him play.

Swift is currently injured and the chances are he will not be able to play for the rest of the season, meaning he could have already taken the field for the last time for the Royals.

Leeds are close to securing Premier League survival and they will be banking on offering top flight football if they decide to offer him a contract.
