The Portuguese is on Burnley’s radar as the club continue their search for a new manager after sacking Sean Dyche close to two weeks ago.

Burnley are considering a number of British options, but Carvalhal is a foreign candidate the club are closely looking at for the moment.

The 56-year-old has the experience of managing in England, where he worked at Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City.

And it has been claimed that the Portuguese is seriously exploring a potential return to England, with his Braga contract due to run out this summer.

He has signed up with an influential agency, New Era, to push his ambition of moving back to England.

The agency counts former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand in one of their leadership roles.

Carvalhal is on Burnley’s shortlist but he is also set to explore other openings across clubs in England in the summer.

Burnley have picked up seven points from their three league games since sacking Dyche.
