Burnley signed the 29-year-old striker from Wolfsburg in January and he has scored two times in 15 league appearances since joining.

He is a certain starter at Burnley as the club look to fight and survive in the Premier League towards the end of the season.

However, he is already being linked with a move away from Burnley with suggestions that the Dutchman could return to the Netherlands.

According to Dutch daily the Eindhovens Dagblad, he is being considered as an option by PSV ahead of the transfer window.

The Eredivisie side want to bring in a striker and are considering a number of options ahead of the summer.

It has been claimed that Weghorst is one of the names on their shortlist as they consider who to bring in.

However, the Dutchman is not the number one target and they are only likely to turn to him if they fail to land other players.

Weghorst signed a contract until 2025 when he joined the Premier League side in January.
