The summer is expected to be a busy time at Villa Park as Gerrard heads into his second window in charge of the Villans and looks to further reshape the squad to his liking.

The first window bought blockbuster signings such as Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne and fans expect Gerrard to continue in the same vein in the summer.

As part of pre-season, the Villans are heading to Australia to take part in friendlies against Premier League opposition.

The Villans will be heading down under in July with the first match taking place on the 17th of the month against Leeds United.

And Gerrard has now determined to conclude the majority of Aston Villa’s business in the summer before they head on to Australia, striking early in the window.

One of the items on Gerrard’s desk is the permanent signing of Coutinho and the Villans are expected to begin talks over it in the final week of this season.

Other targets for Aston Villa include Aaron Hickey, Boubacar Kamara and Kalvin Phillips, among others, but Gerrard is looking to wrap up all their business early.
