Having finished the recently concluded League One season in fourth, the Owls have booked a place in the playoffs semi-finals as they look to climb back into the Championship.

Following a gruelling 46-game campaign, Sheffield Wednesday are gearing up to take on Sunderland on Friday in the playoffs, the Black Cats other former top flight competitors keen on getting back into the big time.

However, Owls boss Moore has insisted that no club can take earning promotion from the English third tier for granted even if they are among the biggest clubs in the country.

And Moore pointed to how Sunderland, a household name just like Sheffield Wednesday, have been stuck in League One for four seasons now.

“This is Sunderland’s fourth season in League One”, Moore told a press conference.

“You can’t take League One for granted.

“Just because they are two household names, it shows you can’t take the third for granted.

“The League One season was always going to be an exciting season.

“It has been a remarkable season.

“We are going into the playoffs and you have got two teams who will lock horns and go to battle tomorrow night.

“We will focus on the first leg.”

Sunderland will host Sheffield Wednesday at the Stadium of Light on Friday, with the second leg at Hillsborough pencilled in for Monday.
