The 24-year-old has impressed in his first-ever season in the Bundesliga, having emerged as one of Hoffenheim’s standout players this term.

In 30 top flight outings so far this season, Raum has racked up 13 assists in addition to three goals for Die Kraichgauer.

Raum’s exploits in Germany has seen him pop up on the transfer radar of several clubs, including the Premier League duo of Liverpool and West Ham.

It has been claimed that the defender has a €30m release clause in his current contract, but according to German magazine Kicker, there is no such stipulation that his potential suitors can trigger to snare him away.

However, Hoffenheim need to let some of their players go this summer to raise funds for new signings.

As Raum does not have a release clause in his current deal, any club keen on him will have to sit at the negotiating table with Hoffenheim, and they are tipped to seek a fee in excess of €40m for his services.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool or West Ham will launch a move for him when the summer window swings open in June.
