Having ensured their safety in the Premier League, Newcastle’s hierarchy are now prepared to back boss Eddie Howe in the summer transfer window.

The recruitment department at St James’ Park have been working hard, with the club keen on bolstering their squad across the board.

Howe wants to reinforce Newcastle’s attacking department and a new striker and a winger is on his summer transfer wish list.

And the Tyneside giants have stepped up their interest in Watford winger Sarr ahead of the forthcoming window.

The Hornets have suffered relegation from the Premier League and will have to part ways with several of their players at the end of this season.

And in a boost for Newcastle, Watford are ready to allow Sarr to leave Vicarage Road in the summer, along with the likes of Emmanuel Davis.

Sarr is contracted at Watford until the summer of 2024 and it remains to be seen what kind of a fee they will demand for his signature if Newcastle decide to pounce on him when the window swings open in June.
