Acun Ilicali completed the takeover of Hull City in January this year and since that time the Tigers have seen a few incomings with Turkish links.

First, Grant McCann was sacked to be replaced by Shota Arveladze, who had considerable experience coaching in Turkey, while the Tigers also signed Allahyar Sayyadmanesh from Fenerbahce.

The links to Turkey have not stopped with Ilicali still looking to bring in more talent from his native country.

Now, the Hull owner and chairman has hit upon Samsunspor star Yunus Emre Cift as a target, according to Turkish outlet Transfer Merkezi.

The 19-year old made his debut for the second-division team only this season, but has since gone on to become more-or-less a regular starter for them.

He has made 22 appearances in all matches for Samsunspor this season and has missed only three league games this year.

The president of Samsunspor, Yuksel Yildirim, though has announced there is no formal offer on the table yet for the youngster.
