Conte’s transformation of Tottenham led to the club securing fourth place and a spot in next season’s Champions League, with thoughts now turning towards the summer window.

The Italian is keen to strengthen and the club are prepared to back him by handing him a war chest to use in the transfer window.

They will also make concessions to Conte on their policy of focusing on signing young players with sell-on value.

Conte likes to sign experienced performers who are operating at their peak and Tottenham will back the Italian to do so, despite it going against their club policy.

Tottenham are tipped to move quickly to snap up experienced goalkeeper Fraser Forster to provide competition for Hugo Lloris.

Southampton are letting Forster go and he will be able to arrive in north London as a free agent.

Tottenham are also interested in bringing back Christian Eriksen, whose short-term deal with Brentford expires in the summer.
