Real Madrid have been expected to sign the French midfielder despite interest from PSG and Liverpool.

The Spanish champions have reached an agreement over a contract with the player and are prepared to offer €80m to Monaco as a transfer fee.

But the situation has changed over the last couple of days despite Real Madrid being in the lead to sign the Frenchman this summer.

Liverpool remain in contact with the midfielder’s representatives and according to French outlet Foot Mercato, PSG are back in the race due to the arrival of Campos as sporting director.

The Portuguese is yet to be formally appointed but he has already made a difference to the club’s pursuit of Tchouameni.

The Frenchman’s camp were previously unconvinced about the project on offer at PSG and they only had a vague understanding of it.

But PSG have now managed to provide more clarity to the midfielder’s camp over what they want to do going forward.

The Parisians are not expecting any issues with agreeing on personal terms and are prepared to offer what Monaco want, which is between €80m to €100m.

The midfielder is still believed to be preferring a move to Spain but PSG are very much in the reckoning thanks to Campos’ imminent arrival.
