The Whites have reached an agreement over a fee with Salzburg for Kristensen and terms have also been agreed upon between the player and Leeds.

The Dane is likely to undergo a medical with Leeds and the club are hopeful of wrapping up the deal in the coming days.

It took a major turnaround for Leeds to move ahead in the race to sign the Denmark international as he looked certain to join Dortmund.

It has been claimed that a move to the Westfalenstadion was well down the line and he was expected to move to Germany.

However, Leeds made an impressive pitch to the player’s camp, which got them in the running against Dortmund.

And it is now more or less certain that Leeds will beat the German giants to the signature of Kristensen.

With Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas expected to miss the start of the season, signing a right-back has been a priority for Leeds.

The Whites identified Kristensen early and are now on the way to signing him in the coming days.
