Patrick Vieira is looking to bring in reinforcements after an impressive first season as Palace manager where he managed to lead his side to a 12th place finish in the Premier League.

The Crystal Palace boss is looking at the French market and is particularly interested in strengthening his side’s midfield options.

Doucoure is a player the Frenchman likes and there is an agreement over a contract between Palace and his representatives.

But according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Eagles are nowhere close to working out an agreement over a fee with Lens.

The French club do not want to sell him at a price they feel undervalues him and talks between Crystal Palace and Lens are yet to bear fruit.

Lens want at least €25m before agreeing to sell him and for the moment, Palace are not prepared to pay that figure.

More negotiations are expected to take place and Crystal Palace are hopeful that Lens will agree to a compromise.

Doucoure wants the move but is waiting for the two clubs to agree on a transfer fee at the moment.
